Marguerite Duras

Marguerite Duras was a French novelist, playwright, screenwriter, essayist and experimental filmmaker whose books include The Lover, The Ravishing of Lol Stein and The Malady of Death. Her screenplay for Hiroshima mon amour (1959) earned a nomination for Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards. Her other fiction includes Destroy, She Said and L'amour.
