Mark Fisher was an English writer, critic and cultural theorist who taught in the Department of Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London, and was known for blogging as k-punk. His writing covered radical politics, music and popular culture, and Capitalist Realism: Is There No Alternative? (2009) argues that capitalism has come to seem the only option. He co-founded Zero Books and later Repeater Books, and The Weird and the Eerie came out in 2017, shortly after he died by suicide that January.
