Mary Pipher is an American clinical psychologist and author, best known for Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls, published in 1994. Her later books range widely, including Women Rowing North, which looks at the emotional and social realities of women's later years, and The Green Boat, on reviving ourselves in a capsized culture. She also wrote A Life in Light: Meditations on Impermanence. Pipher earned her PhD in clinical psychology from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
