Matthew Quick is an American writer of adult and young adult fiction, best known for his 2008 debut, The Silver Linings Playbook, which became a New York Times bestseller and a 2012 film starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. His young-adult novels include Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock and Boy 21, the latter favorably reviewed by The New York Times in 2012. Quick was a finalist for the 2009 PEN/Hemingway Award, and his work has been translated into several languages. He was also a finalist for TIME's 100 most influential people of 2013.
