Meg Mason is a New Zealand-born author and journalist whose best-known novel is Sorrow and Bliss, a 2020 book about Martha, a woman in her forties whose mental illness strains her marriage and family. Sorrow and Bliss won the British Book Awards' Fiction Book of the Year in 2022. Mason also wrote You Be Mother, a contemporary novel, and published Sophie, Standing There in 2026.
