Michael J. Fox is a Canadian and American actor and activist, best known for playing Marty McFly in the Back to the Future trilogy and Alex P. Keaton on the sitcom Family Ties. He went on to lead the ABC sitcom Spin City. After disclosing his Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 1998, Fox became an advocate for a cure and founded The Michael J. Fox Foundation to fund research. His memoirs include Always Looking Up and Lucky Man.
