Michael J. Sandel is an American political philosopher and the Anne T. and Robert M. Bass Professor of Government at Harvard University. His first book, Liberalism and the Limits of Justice (1982), offered a critique of John Rawls' A Theory of Justice. His Harvard course Justice became the university's first course made freely available online and on television, and his books include Justice: What's the Right Thing to Do? and What Money Can't Buy, both works of philosophy.
