Michael Lewis is an American author and financial journalist who writes mostly nonfiction about business, finance and economics. He began his career on Wall Street as a bond salesman at Salomon Brothers, and that experience became Liar's Poker, his first book. He is best known for Moneyball, about Billy Beane and the Oakland Athletics, and The Big Short, about financial crises, and his books have won two Los Angeles Times Book Prizes.
