Molefi K. Asante is an American philosopher whose work spans African-American studies, African studies, and communication studies. He teaches in the Department of Africology at Temple University, where he founded the PhD program in African-American Studies, and he advocates for Afrocentricity. Among the books published under his name are 100 Greatest African Americans: A Biographical Encyclopedia, which profiles a hundred figures from American history and culture, and the essay collection Revolutionary Pedagogy.
