Nicole Krauss is an American author born in 1974, best known for the novels Man Walks into a Room, The History of Love, Great House and Forest Dark. The History of Love follows a young girl named Leo and an elderly man whose lives are tied together through a book, and Great House won the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award in 2011. Her short story collection To Be a Man, published in 2020, won the Wingate Literary Prize in 2022.
