Ocean Vuong

Ocean Vuong is an American poet, essayist, novelist and photographer whose debut novel, On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, came out in 2019, the same year Vuong was awarded a MacArthur Fellowship. Vuong's poetry includes Night Sky with Exit Wounds and Time Is a Mother, and the novel follows a letter from a son to a mother who cannot read. Earlier honors include the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship from the Poetry Foundation, the Whiting Award, and the T. S. Eliot Prize.
