Patrick Carman

Patrick Carman is an American writer whose work includes the Land of Elyon series, which began with The Dark Hills Divide in 2005, followed by the Atherton trilogy. He has written middle grade and YA novels such as Skeleton Creek, Floors, Pulse, Dark Eden, and Fizzopolis, and his books include The Black Circle, part of The 39 Clues series. A graduate of Willamette University, he speaks at national book events and gave a TED talk on 21st-century literacy in 2011.
