Peter Shaffer

Sir Peter Shaffer was an English playwright, screenwriter, and novelist, best known for the plays Equus and Amadeus. Both plays earned him the Tony Award for Best Play, and Shaffer adapted each one for the screen himself. His Amadeus screenplay won an Academy Award and a Golden Globe, and the play follows the rivalry between court composer Antonio Salieri and Mozart in 18th-century Vienna.
