Philip C. Stead is best known for A Sick Day for Amos McGee, a Caldecott Medal winner that he wrote and his wife, Erin E. Stead, illustrated. He also writes and illustrates his own books, including his debut Creamed Tuna Fish and Peas on Toast, Hello, My Name is Ruby, Jonathan and the Big Blue Boat, and A Home for Bird. With Erin he made Bear Has a Story to Tell, an E.B. White Read-Aloud Award honor book, and he has also written the fiction title Music for Mister Moon.
