Philip Reeve is an English author and illustrator of children's books, best known for Mortal Engines and the four-book Mortal Engines Quartet that follows it: Mortal Engines, Predator's Gold, Infernal Devices and A Darkling Plain. His 2007 novel Here Lies Arthur, based on the legendary King Arthur, won the Carnegie Medal. Born in 1966, Reeve writes adventure fiction for younger readers, with dystopian and fantasy touches running through the series.
