Priest's books are fantasy fiction that moves between modern and epic settings. Drowning Sorrows in Raging Fire is an urban fantasy with a paranormal romance thread, set in a world where a secretive bureau contains supernatural anomalies and an amnesiac immortal is tied to an old disaster. Stars of Chaos, the first volume of Sha Po Lang, turns to epic fantasy.
