Raymond Carver

Raymond Carver was an American short story writer and poet. His first collection, Will You Please Be Quiet, Please?, appeared in 1976, and What We Talk About When We Talk About Love (1981) drew immediate acclaim. Cathedral (1983), which Carver considered his watershed, is often regarded as his finest work, and Where I'm Calling From, his definitive collection of stories, was published shortly before his death in 1988.
