Rene Denfeld

Rene Denfeld is an American author who also works as an investigator for the Portland office of the U.S. public defender, where she works with sex-trafficking victims and death row prisoners whose stories have inspired her writing. Her detective novels follow Naomi Cottle, starting with The Child Finder and continuing in The Butterfly Girl, both mysteries about missing children. Denfeld's standalone novel The Enchanted, a coming-of-age story with magical realist touches, takes a different path.
