Reza Aslan is an Iranian-American scholar of sociology, writer, and television host whose books focus on religion. He has written about Islam in No God but God and about Jesus in Zealot, and his later work includes God: A Human History and An American Martyr in Persia, a 2022 account of Howard Baskerville. Aslan also made Believer, a CNN documentary series on world religions, and served as an executive producer on the HBO drama The Leftovers, while teaching creative writing at the University of California, Riverside.
