Richard Bachman

Richard Bachman is a pen name of American horror author Stephen King, adopted in 1977 for the novel Rage and kept hidden until 1985. Under the Bachman name, King published seven novels, including The Long Walk, a dystopian science fiction story, The Running Man, a dystopian thriller, and Thinner, a psychological horror novel. Rage, the first of these, was allowed to go out of print after the 1997 Heath High School shooting, since its premise drew controversy.
