Ron Berry

Ron Berry was a Welsh author of novels and short stories who wrote about working people in the industrial Rhondda Valleys, where he was born in 1920 and spent most of his life. Titles such as Flame and Slag, So Long, Hector Bebb and Travelling Loaded sit alongside the historical novel This Bygone and the adventure story Hunters and Hunted. His outlook is more optimistic than many of his contemporaries, and he was largely overlooked until writers including Rachel Trezise and Niall Griffiths embraced his work. He died in 1997.
