Ron Chernow is an American writer, journalist, and biographer who writes historical lives of figures from American politics and finance. His book Washington: A Life won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Biography, and The House of Morgan, a study of the banking family and the rise of modern finance, earned the National Book Award for Nonfiction. His earlier life of Alexander Hamilton inspired the Hamilton musical, on which he worked as a historical consultant. His other subjects include Grant, Mark Twain, and Titan.
