Sahar Khalifeh

Sahar Khalifeh is a Palestinian writer of eleven novels, best known for Wild Thorns (1976). Her novel The Image, the Icon, and the Covenant won the 2006 Naguib Mahfouz Medal for Literature, and her other books include The End of Spring, a novel of war and history, and The Inheritance, a coming-of-age story. Born in 1941, she earned a bachelor's degree in English from Birzeit University in Palestine.
