Saul Bellow was an American writer, best known for novels such as The Adventures of Augie March, Henderson the Rain King, Seize the Day and Humboldt's Gift. He won the Pulitzer Prize and the 1976 Nobel Prize in Literature, and he was the only writer to win the National Book Award for Fiction three times. Other notable works include Herzog, Mr. Sammler's Planet and Ravelstein.
