Sergio Pitol

Sergio Pitol Deméneghi (1933–2018) was a Mexican writer, translator and diplomat. In 2005 Pitol received the Cervantes Prize, the most prestigious literary award in the Spanish-speaking world. Pitol's books include The Art of Flight, the first volume of the Trilogy of Memory, which blends memoir and fiction as it moves through the world's cultural capitals, and The Journey, a book of travel writing and essays.
