Shahrnush Parsipur was an Iranian writer and translator, born in 1946 and died in 2026. Her novels include Touba and the Meaning of Night, which follows a young woman whose schooling carries her through eighty years of upheaval in twentieth-century Iran and blends history with mysticism, and Women Without Men.
