Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky

Sigizmund Krzhizhanovsky was a Russian and Soviet writer, playwright, philosopher and historian who published only nine stories and a few essays in his lifetime. Most of his work appeared after he died in obscurity in 1950, once a scholar found his archive in 1976 and began printing the short stories in 1989. He is best known for short parables and phantasmagoric tales, and one of them is noted for its Kafkaesque style. Among his books are Autobiography of a Corpse, a work of fiction with a mystery strand, and The Letter Killers Club, a collection of magical realist short stories.
