Dānishvar's name is on two works of fiction, A Persian Requiem and Savushun. A Persian Requiem is set in the southern Persian town of Shiraz during the British occupation at the end of the Second World War, and follows a family as political unrest reaches their home. Sīmīn Dānishvar lived from 1921 to 2012, and both books are works of historical and literary fiction.
