Simon Scarrow is a British writer best known for the Eagles of the Empire series of Roman military fiction, covering the second invasion of Britain and its aftermath, with the latest, Tyrant of Rome, published in 2025. Scarrow worked at the Inland Revenue before completing a master's at the University of East Anglia and teaching as a lecturer at East Norfolk Sixth Form College and City College Norwich. The Revolution series, following Wellington and Napoleon, began with Young Bloods in 2006 and ended with The Fields of Death in 2010.
