Sonia Sotomayor is an American lawyer and jurist who serves as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, where she is the third woman to sit. Before joining the bench she was an assistant district attorney in New York and worked in private practice, and she has taught at New York University School of Law and Columbia Law School. Alongside her judicial career she has written the memoir My Beloved World and the self-help book Just Ask!
