Stef Penney

Stef Penney is a Scottish novelist and filmmaker. Her debut, The Tenderness of Wolves, is a mystery set in 1860s Canada that opens with the discovery of a trapper's murder, and it won the 2006 Costa Book Award. She followed it with The Invisible Ones and Under A Pole Star, the latter shortlisted for the 2017 Costa Book Awards, and later wrote The Long Water, a thriller set in a remote Norwegian Arctic valley. She has also adapted three Modesty Blaise novels for BBC Radio.
