Tahmima Anam is a Bangladeshi-born British novelist and columnist whose fiction often turns to the Bangladesh War of Independence. Her first novel, A Golden Age, follows Rehana through the 1971 war in Dhaka and won the Best First Book prize at the 2008 Commonwealth Writers' Prizes. Her follow-up, The Good Muslim, was nominated for the 2011 Man Asian Literary Prize. She also wrote The Startup Wife and Bones of Grace.
