Tere Liye's novels are contemporary fiction with a coming-of-age streak. Daun Yang Jatuh Tak Pernah Membenci Angin is a romance about a girl lifted out of poverty by a kind guardian, and the forbidden love that grows from it, told with a quiet acceptance of fate. Hafalan Shalat Delisa is also coming-of-age fiction, with war fiction in the mix.
