Thomas J. Stanley was an American writer and business theorist who spent his career studying how Americans built wealth on their own. He wrote or co-wrote The Millionaire Next Door and The Millionaire Mind, both New York Times best sellers, and he taught marketing at universities in Tennessee and Georgia. He was killed by a drunk driver in 2015 at the age of 71, and his final book, The Next Millionaire Next Door, was finished by his daughter, Sarah Stanley Fallaw.
