Tom Wolfe was an American author and journalist known for New Journalism, a 1960s and 1970s style that brought literary techniques to reporting. Much of his work is satirical, centering on the counterculture of that decade and on class and status among New York's elites. His nonfiction includes The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, about Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters, and The Right Stuff, about the Mercury Seven astronauts. His novels include The Bonfire of the Vanities, A Man in Full, and I Am Charlotte Simmons.
