Vladimir Il'ich Lenin was a Russian politician and communist theorist, born in 1870 and died in 1924, and he was the first leader of Soviet Russia. Among his books is Imperialism: The Highest Stage of Capitalism, which examines how banks, large industries and the export of capital fuel rivalry between nations. He also wrote The State and Revolution, a study of the state and political change, and The Three Sources and Three Component Parts of Marxism, a shorter work on the ideas of Marx.
