Description
Still grieving but ready to reenter the dating world, brilliant scientist Dr. Anthony “Tony” Hinch faces an unusual romantic obstacle: the hulking creature he has created and hidden in his basement has a habit of eliminating his dates. At the same time, Philadelphia Institute janitor Alan Cooper dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian, but a corrupt union boss—and his own unreliable memory—keeps derailing his ambitions. When Tony’s disastrous love life collides with Alan’s struggle for a break, the two find themselves caught in a darkly comic battle involving scientific obsession, workplace corruption, and an increasingly unmanageable monster. Blending horror, absurdity, and heartfelt underdog humor, the novel asks whether friendship, love, and ambition can survive the forces determined to keep them down.
