Description

Sixteen-year-old Claire is a devoted fangirl whose life revolves around Demon Heart—especially the romance she’s written into a wildly popular fanfic. When she meets FOREST, the actor behind her favorite character, at a local Comic-Con, it feels like her dream has finally come true—until a single moment in the Q&A shatters her assumptions and leaves her reeling. As Claire and FOREST navigate hurt feelings, misunderstandings, and the messy gap between on-screen personas and real people, they’re forced to confront what it means to be seen, believed, and respected. With sharp wit and a heartfelt YA voice, this story explores identity, fandom culture, and the power—and responsibility—of representation.
