Description
A young governess arrives at a secluded country estate to care for two seemingly angelic children, only to find herself ensnared in a web of unsettling occurrences. As spectral figures begin to appear, she becomes convinced that malevolent spirits are attempting to corrupt her charges. The governess must grapple with her own sanity and the true nature of the evil lurking within the house, questioning whether the danger is supernatural or rooted in the human psyche. This chilling novella masterfully explores themes of innocence, corruption, and the ambiguity of perception, leaving readers to ponder the darkness that lies beneath the surface.
