Description
Romily has a rule: don’t fall for the same impossibly attractive man who keeps showing up at the scene of mass murder. But when Arlington Fox—an assassin with a dangerously competent reputation—targets her and somehow treats her disability with genuine respect, Romily can’t help wondering whether fate is offering more than survival. As their relationship spirals into paranormal chaos, the two navigate a wildly mismatched connection, sharp humor, and the unsettling question of what it means to want someone who lives by violence. With sass, romance-forward tension, and a ridiculous 3000-year age gap, this MM paranormal rom-com explores consent, empathy, and the thin line between attraction and moral reckoning—proving that love can be both ridiculous and unexpectedly sincere.

Fucking loved this. Immediately bought the next 2
in the great words of watsonshoneybee via tumblr, “do i look like the kind of man who dies?” 3rd read through update: this book really is a fucking delight and each time i've read it, i've gotten something new out of it. first round was manic joy, second was giddy excitement, but this time above all else was the comfort of something known and loved. this reread was part of a buddy read with a friend who has also read the series and a friend we introduced it to. at the end of the day, i've realized sharing this ketamine cocktail of a series with other people is one of my favorite things.
