Description

Denied entry to the Royal Society of London, Wilford Bowen sets sail to prove his worth through natural wonders—only to have his voyage upended by pirates, parasitic wasps, and a menagerie of impossible, sea-born horrors. As he gathers scientific evidence for the marvels he can’t quite explain, Wilford must forge trust with a reluctant crew and navigate the emotional fallout of the friend he left behind, Jean Baptiste de Beaupré. Blending high-seas adventure with creeping cosmic dread, the story explores obsession, belonging, and the thin line between discovery and madness. With a tone that pairs swashbuckling camaraderie with Lovecraftian atmosphere, this collaboration delivers a vivid, character-driven descent into the mysteries lurking beneath the waves.

there was nothing wrong with this book other than that i didn’t realize this wasn’t gonna be what i expected based off what i had been told. it’s not fair to hold it against the book but it did diminish my enjoyment coming to terms with my disappointment.
