Description
Follow an unnamed protagonist through the chaotic underbelly of 1990s New York City as he navigates the precarious existence of a perpetual couch-surfer and struggling writer. Nersesian crafts a darkly comic odyssey of urban desperation, where each misadventure—from romantic rejection and job loss to unexpected criminal entanglement—spirals into increasingly absurd and tragicomic circumstances. With sharp wit and unflinching honesty, the novel captures the voice of a generation adrift, finding both humor and pathos in the struggle to survive and find meaning in a city that offers little mercy. This underground literary gem balances laugh-out-loud moments with genuine human vulnerability, creating a portrait of failure that feels both painfully authentic and darkly hilarious. A raw, uncompromising debut that announces Nersesian as a vital chronicler of urban life and the walking wounded who inhabit it.
