Description
In this profoundly moving novel, a writer's suicide ten years after the fall of communism sends shockwaves through his circle, leaving his friend Kingsbitter searching for answers. Among the deceased's effects, Kingsbitter discovers a play that eerily foreshadows events yet to come, deepening the mystery surrounding a life marked by survival from Auschwitz. As Kingsbitter delves into his friend's past and papers, the narrative becomes a haunting exploration of a generation grappling with the enduring shadows of the Holocaust and totalitarianism. This is a lyrical and suspenseful inquest into the compromised inner lives and indelible legacies of those who lived through unimaginable historical trauma.
