Description

In the aftermath of World War II, hundreds of young women embark on a perilous journey across the ocean to reunite with their husbands, their futures uncertain. Among them, four Australian brides board HMS Victoria, an aircraft carrier repurposed for this extraordinary voyage, sharing its decks with a thousand naval officers and men. As strict rules of conduct are enforced, the lives of the servicemen and the brides become unexpectedly intertwined, leading to unforeseen connections and challenges. One enigmatic bride, Frances Mackenzie, finds her past catching up to her, revealing that the journey itself may hold more significance than the destination she seeks.
