Description
In a remote village where a mysterious tree seems to “remember” the past, a young girl is drawn into a haunting mystery that connects family secrets, local legends, and the cost of survival. As she uncovers what really happened to those who came before her, she must navigate shifting loyalties and the quiet power of stories that refuse to stay buried. Blending lyrical storytelling with suspenseful, emotionally charged stakes, this novel explores themes of memory, resilience, and the ways communities shape—and distort—truth. With Kiran Millwood Hargrave’s signature atmospheric style and vivid character work, the book delivers a moving journey that feels both timeless and urgently alive.
