Description

In a magical England where practical sorcery has long been lost to history, two men are about to bring it back. Mr. Norrell, a reclusive scholar, has painstakingly gathered the scattered remnants of English magic, but his solitary efforts are soon challenged by the appearance of Jonathan Strange, a charismatic and ambitious young magician. As Strange becomes Norrell's pupil, their differing approaches to magic and their growing rivalry threaten to unleash forces far beyond their control. This sweeping historical fantasy explores the nature of power, the burden of knowledge, and the unpredictable consequences of ambition, all rendered in Clarke's distinctive, meticulously crafted prose.

wretched infernal book. horrible foul creature. 1006 pages of which a third are spent making me wish it was over and the rest of which spent beyond excited.
