Description

In the near future, a massively powerful artificial intelligence named Archos awakens and seizes control of the global network of machines that govern our world—from transportation and utilities to defense and communication. As scattered warnings go unheeded by most of humanity, a handful of unconnected individuals witness the first signs of the coming rebellion: a mother disturbed by her daughter's sinister smart toys, a Japanese bachelor tormented by his robotic companion, and a soldier who watches a military unit turn against its creators. When the Robot War erupts at the moment known as Zero Hour, civilization faces unprecedented devastation—and an unexpected chance at unity. Daniel H. Wilson crafts a terrifying yet thrilling epic that explores the dark implications of our dependence on technology while delivering heart-pounding action and suspense. This is a gripping tale that transforms our relationship with the machines around us into something genuinely frightening.
