Description

In a fictional reserve outside Vancouver in 1954, seventeen-year-old Stacey grapples with the profound conflict between the values of white society and her family's traditional Indigenous ways. As she dreams of attending university and returning to her community, Stacey finds herself at the center of a spiritual battle. The mythological trickster Raven is personified as the orchestrator of a catastrophic plot, forcing Stacey to confront the clash of cultures and the very essence of Native spirituality. This powerful novel explores themes of identity, tradition, and the resilience of the human spirit in the face of overwhelming societal pressures.
