Description
In a time of anti-trans violence, this debut poetry collection finds audacity in the places that are meant to be inhospitable. Rooted in Colorado Springs, the poems trace how trans people move through and remake the world—asking what it means for a plant to be labeled a “weed,” and who gets to decide what belongs. Through vivid natural imagery and intimate lyric attention, the collection explores queerness as both survival and refusal, turning the landscape’s hostility into a site of growth. With a bold, grounded voice, Nico Wilkinson’s work celebrates the stubborn beauty of becoming—where even what is dismissed as unwanted keeps growing anyway.

a decent collection, not my fav poetic format. i really was confused by how often raccoons and dead chickens were part of the narrative. *edit to add that i did read this as a ebook and from what the other reviews mention, a lot of the charm of this collection is in the binding of the physical copy
