Description
In the shadow of a devastating fireworks disaster, the seemingly idyllic Sigerius family begins to fracture. Joni, the daughter of a celebrated university rector, and her boyfriend Aaron are concealing a lucrative but dangerous enterprise, while the unexpected return of Sigerius’s estranged son threatens to expose long-buried tensions. Years later, with Joni established in Los Angeles and Aaron still haunted by the past, the truth about that fateful summer gradually comes into focus. This ambitious, psychologically rich novel explores fate, family secrets, ambition, beauty, and the slow disintegration of an apparently perfect world.
